Intusoft's ICAP/4 product family
provides advanced technology for power-electronic design, simulation,
verification and test of analog and mixed-signal circuitry. Within the
full-featured "SpiceNet" design entry system, 30 ready-to-use SMPS schematic
templates save design time, plus feature embedded ICs, fast average models and
passive devices with second-order effects. A dedicated power component library
adds an extra 800+ devices to the normal simulation library. Hysteretic
average models simulate devices up to two orders of magnitude faster than
switch-level models, while maintaining high accuracy. Also provided are
special injection models derived from Dr. Middlebrook's legendary General
Feedback Theorem, for measuring open loop properties while preserving
closed-loop bias conditions. Special "IsSpice4" simulation algorithms invented
by Intusoft, e.g., VSECTOL and ICSTEP, enable tough convergence on complex
switching circuitry. Other features include the "Magnetics Designer" magnetics
design and synthesis option, free custom modeling service, model building
tools and a gamut of verification analyses such as Monte Carlo, worst case and
extreme value.
Basic ICAP/4 Power Electronic Solution
The ICAP/4Rx Power Deluxe is a complete power electronic design-simulation
solution that provides design entry, analog & mixed-signal simulation,
debugging tools, 16,000+ simulation part models (no GFT models), model
building tool, waveform viewing, and cross-probing to the waveform viewing
tool, which includes 150 waveform processing functions. ICAP/4Rx Power Deluxe
is for electronic designs that do not require advanced verification analyses
such as Monte Carlo statistical analysis. Operating point information and
waveforms can be viewed directly on the schematic. New models can be imported
and attached to a graphic shape for simulation.
More Advanced ICAP/4 Power Electronic Solution
ICAP/4Windows Power Deluxe adds advanced verification analyses such as Monte
Carlo, worst case, extreme value and root-summed squares parametric variation
for power electronic designs. It also includes AC/DC & transient sensitivity
analysis, noise and distortion analyses, plus interactive parametric variation
and nested component sweeping. A full set of electrical measurements can be
specified across the design. The results are numerically charted after
simulation, including pass/fail histogram readout and component stress alarms.
The package furnishes 22,500 simulation models, model building tools and
library management tool.
The "Power Supply Designer" package adds a complete magnetic design and
synthesis option to "ICAP/4Windows Power Deluxe," for the creation of
inductors, transformers, coils, etc. The program predicts magnetizing and
leakage inductance, inter-winding capacitance, peak flux density, DC and AC
winding resistance, copper loss, core loss, weight, temperature rise, window
fill percentage and more. It also accommodates change to 20+ design parameters
such as temperature rise, window fill, number of turns, wire gauge and type,
bobbin margins, number of parallel strands, gap length, layer insulation
thickness, wrapper thickness and end margin lengths. A non-linear saturable
core SPICE model and new magnetic materials have been recently added to
Magnetics Designer.
